There’s something for every member of the family of all ages at the Tyseley Locomotive Works Vintage Weekend. 7029 Clun Castle and 34053 Sir Keith Park will be in steam together with other locomotives.
FREE TRAIN RIDES
Battle of Britain class Bulleid Pacific No. 34053 Sir Keith Park will be hauling free trains rides throughout the weekend, together with recently repainted in “Great Western” livery, Pannier Tank 7752. We wish to thank Southern Locomotives Limited for allowing Sir Keith Park to remain at Tyseley for the Vintage Weekend following repairs in the locomotive works.
By popular request, the Tyseley Locomotive Works Shunter Class 08 Diesel No. 13029 will also haul the passenger shuttle trains between approximately 10:00am and 11:00am each day of the Vintage Weekend.
Come and meet Paddington™ – he will be making appearances at intervals throughout the weekend with opportunities to take photos!
Explore our vintage fairground including a steam powered carousel built in 1893, which featured in the ITV period drama Vanity Fair. The carousel features 34 horses and two cockerels that gallop to the historic sounds of the Gavioli organ music.
The children’s carousel dates back to 1910 with a fantastic selection of restored cars, a steam roller, horses and other period toys.
The vintage fairground has been fully restored by Michael Rule and his family who have been operating traditional funfair attractions for over twenty years.
Ride on miniature railways of various gauges.
